During the weekend in Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, the Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Oko, held the long-awaited investiture ceremony of the 38th President of the Club. The event which was held on the 13th of November 2022 at the Polytechnic Alumni Building came with lots of exciting experiences of friendship, re-union, and visit of past leaders in the club.
Presenting the Valedictory Speech at the event, Rotr. Kelechi Ezeagwula appreciated the club for the privilege to pilot the affairs of the club and for the collective efforts of the member of the club which helped to carry out a series of projects that has greatly impacted much community and also grown the Rotary public image.
Receiving the paraphernalia of office as the 38th President of the Rotaract Club of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Rtr. Samuel Anyagu thanked the members of the club for the confidence posed on him to lead the way and further affirmed that the club under his leadership will lead the way especially as it concerns Basic Education, Environment, Road, and Peace while soliciting the support of all and sundry to enhance the projects the club will be embarking on.
He commended his predecessor Rotr Kelechi Ezeaguwla for all he did for him and will still do and also Rotr. Oluchukwu Okafor for always being available to advise and guard him on better ways to do things.
The occasion was graced by the worthy District 9142 Rotaract Representative, Nnabude Chukwunonso Valentine alongside side Valentine Chidiebere Okaudu.
Nnabude Valentine who was accorded a warm welcome to the ceremony while delivering his lecture congratulated the members of the Club and tasked them to know the essence of identifying with Rotaract Club and also to bring in more members to enhance the growth of the club. He emphasized that Rotaract Club will give members the platform for Leadership Training and Humanitarian Services. It was indeed a proud moment for the event attendees and members of the club who were there to witness the occasion.
Speaking with the Media, Comr. Silas Chukwuebuka Okolie (Rotr) Congratulated the Newly Inaugurated President and also stated the need to set his goals right for the club to grow massively. According to him, "Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work and that’s the price we will have to pay to achieve any goal."
"I hope we as members of the club will at all times do our best in everything that we take up," He added.
Other Highlights of the event include the Inauguration of the Board of Directors, Induction of New Members, Conferment of Awards, and Payment of Tuition fees to selected Nursery and Primary school pupils.
Present at the installation ceremony were past presidents of the Club, The Sponsor Club, Imagine President across the zone, Zonal Officials, and also the Board of Directors.
