- Dissociates Self From Endorsement of Presidential Candidate
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) under the leadership of Comr. Kingsley Asiegbu has enjoined Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Technologies and other allied institutions awarding National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students on the need to vote credible candidates in the Saturday, 25th of February, 2023 general Election. In a statement signed by the President, Secretary and the Vice President, the Association's reteriated that no presidential candidate was endorsed by the students' body while urging the students to vote with conscience.
The statements reads, "The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) which is the umbrella body of all Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Technologies and other allied institutions awarding National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) with membership strength of over 28.1 million armless battalion Nigeria Polytechnic Students schooling in Nigeria and Diaspora is by this press release dissociating it self from the endorsement of any presidential candidate in the 25th February 2023 general election."
"We wish to unequivocally state that NAPS is not a political movement and will not endorse any presidential candidate. The political jobbers who are brazenly propagating falsehoods as part of their ignoble venture of seeking to sell out the association do not in anyway represents the interest of the Nigeria Polytechnic Students."
"We therefore call on all polytechnic students to vote with conscience, credible candidates of their choice in the forthcoming General Election."
"The leadership of NAPS wish to reassure Nigerian Students that we remain committed to the mission and vision of the Association and will continue to work in the interest of the Students."
