The Students Union Government, Federal Polytechnic Oko Official Secretariat whose foundation was laid by His Excellency, Giant Comr. Nwachukwu Okechukwu (Young Evangelist) was today, being the 14th of December, 2020 commissioned under the rectorship of Engr. Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo.
The event started with the arrival of the Polytechnic Rector cum opening prayer, Presentation of kola nut, speech by the current SUG President, The Former Director of Students' Affair, Award and Certificate Presentation to former Union Members.
The incumbent SUG President, Giant Comr. Asiegbu Kingsley during his presentation appreciated the School Management for providing a level learning ground for the students. He also cited some of the Achievement of the union which among them includes the renovation of the Polytechnic Toilet Facilities, Purchasing of Union's Canopies, And Chairs.
The Former Director of Students' Affair, Ven Chukwudi S. Osondu, during his presentation, appreciated those who help to see to the success of the SUG Complex, among them includes the Former Rector, Prof. Godwin Onu, The Students Union Presidents whose tenure see to the success of this building, Giant Comr. Akuche Izuchukwu (2017/2018) and Comr. Bro Moses Orji (Caretaker Committee Chairman). (2019), The Building Contractor, the Chief Security Officer, and hosts of others whose effort added to the success of the building.
The Rector of the Polytechnic of, Engr. Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo while speaking during the event Appreciated all those who have been fighting relentlessly to ensure that Her goal and aim for the Students is been achieved. "I must appreciate the immediate past SUG President, Giant Comr. Onuorah Charles, He is a good man I must always reckon with, Also Giant Comr. Akuche Izuchukwu, Giant Comr. Asiegbu Kingsley and Giant Comr. Uyanneh Xmai (Governor, Atani Campus) and your deputy Comr. Okeke Nkiruka, You all have been doing well to see that the student's welfare is been protected," she encouraged.
Donnie Saico Media gathered that the new SUG complex was built through the Union's Account and support from Chief Godwin Ezemo (Anambra Gubernatorial Aspirant) who volunteered to paint the building for the Students.
Dignitaries present in the events include The Rector and Her Deputy, The Polytechnic Ag. Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, Former DSA, Chief Security Officer, HODs and Staff of the Polytechnic, Director Academic Planning, Representative of Godwin Ezemo, Present DSA, Mr. Chioma Nwankwo, Union Officials both Present and Past, ATANI Campus Union Members, Rotaract Officials, Student Bar Association among others.
