Anambra Trade Commissioner Okafor Asks COOU Students To Embrace Hardwork



Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Uchenna Okafor has advised students to eschew the notion that education is scam.

Commissioner Okafor gave the advice during a one-day seminar, organized by the office of the secretary general, Student Union Government, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, COOU, Igbariam campus.



The event, which took place at the Law Auditorium, has “Education is not scam with the right network” as its theme.
Mr. Okafor, represented by Mr. Ifeanyi Igboelina, charged the students to take collection of their voter’s card and education seriously as according to him, both are keys to greater future and extolled Governor Obiano led administration for running youth inclusive governance.

In a keynote address, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on New Media, Comrade Chibuikem Uloka, who identified learning as the only thing that ends when one dies, encouraged the participants to maintain focus.




Others, who spoke at the event including the National President, National Female Students Association of Nigeria, Miss Queen Chikwendu and the Vice President, Student Union Government, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Miss Gloria Ukpeli charged them to first, discover themselves before choosing a career.


The Secretary, Students’ Union Government, COOU and the host, Miss Chinecherem Udemadu said they initiate the seminar because of youth’s perception towards education calling on everyone to acquire knowledge in order to be distinguished among others.

Cutting of cake and presentation of award of excellence to Commissioner Okafor and others climaxed the event.
