Election Accreditation Put to Stop as NANS Storms Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.
Reaction to the Consolidation visit by the National Association of Nigerian Students in 15th of May, 2019 which have not been put into consideration till date.
Prior to their earlier demands which includes:
Immediate removal of the Dean Student Affairs for his lackadaisical attitudes towards the plights of the students and also called for caution to all lecturers extorting Nigerian Students in the name of textbooks and Assignments. They also agreed to conduct SUG election immediately after the exams as majority of the students yearned, but none of the above demands have been carried out.
Storming to polytechnic today just at the point of starting the Unconstitutional mode of Election which is E-VOTING, they quickly demanded that the generator powering the whole system should be powered off, they proceeded to lock the Director of Students Affair Office.
Donnie Saico Media Crew when Interviewing one of the NANS official Comr. Chidozie Anthony O. (Director of Sports), He Stated Categorically that the electoral process must be stopped until they go back to the Constitutional provision of the Students Union Government equally that the dean must go immediately.
S.A to the Governor of Anambra State on Student Affairs Hon.Comr.Sheriff E.E Zadok lamented on His displeasure on the happenings around the Polytechnic because of the lackadaisical attitude of the DSA, that the DSA should cater for the welfare of the student and not to do otherwise also the high amount of Money charged by SIEC for purchasing of SUG form.
Donnie Saico media in its observation checked the provision of the Polytechnic Students Union Government constitution Article XIV, Section 1 line a to q which stipulated the Election Procedure. During the cause of reading the constitution will gathered that it was not in anyway followed.
RESOLUTION
After long walk with the Chief Security Officer, Anti-Cult Director, NANS Executives and the Students of the polytechnic.
The Students especially the SUG Aspirants were giving the opportunity to asked questions which they did and it was answered by Hon. Comr. Sheriff E.
Here are the Resolution;
1. That the Election is hereby postponed and may hold on or before 30th of August, 2019.
2. That option A4 or open ballot box should be use instead of E-Voting as provided in the Constitution.
