New Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri might face a hostile reception in Turin if their fans recall the cheeky Nap hand he showed them last year.

Then- Napoli chief Sarri gave Juve supporters the middle finger when he arrived for a crucial Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium in April 2018.

To make matters worse, Kalidou Koulibaly clinched a famous away win for Napoli with a brilliant last-minute header.

Old Lady fans feeling Blue that night now have something in common with Chelsea followers today as Sarri has left Stamford Bridge for a three-year contract with Juventus.

Naples-born Sarri succeeds Max Allegri , who quit Juve after five Serie A titles in a row, making it eight on the trot altogether for the Italian giants.

Sarri led the Blues to third place in the Premier League and the Europa League crown in his only season as a Premier League chief.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: "In talks we had following the Europa League final, Maurizio made it clear how strongly he desired to return to his native country, explaining that his reasons for wanting to return to work in Italy were significant.

"He also believed it important to be nearer his family, and for the well-being of his elderly parents he felt he needed to live closer to them at this point.

"We would also like to congratulate him on securing the role as big as any in Serie A and to wish him the best of luck for the future."

Chelsea legend and Derby manager Frank Lampard remains clear favourite to step in at the Bridge.

But whoever comes in will struggle to match the passion shown by Sarri in his home country.

On that infamous night in Turin 14 months, the 60-year-old not only flipped the bird from inside the Napoli coach, he also ran onto the pitch afterwards to celebrate victory.

Sarri then shared high fives with pockets of away fans in the crowd.

Thousands of supporters, some with flares and fireworks, greeted Napoli when their plane arrived back.

Now Sarri will be hoping for a similar reception when his position goes full circle with his appointment by Juventus.
