Awgu LGA Deserves a well equipped Secondary School - Comr Silas C.O

The Director of Education, Awgu Town Undergraduates Association (ATUA), Awgu in Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State, Comr. Silas C. Okolie has called for the establishment of a well equipped secondary school with Boarding facilities in Awgu local government area, as it will aide and promote Education in Awgu.

With the current situation of learning in Awgu Local Government, it is becoming worrisome that Awgu cannot boost of any Government Secondary School well equipped both in the science field and otherwise.

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

"We cannot build a strong community through education, when the structures of secondary schools in Awgu is nothing to write home about. We don't have good Science Laboratory with the necessary apparatus in it, Computer Practicals are now done anytime it pleases the school, forgetting the need for students to acquire computer skills as a tool in this modernized world."

Just as Jim Rohn said and I quote “If someone is going down the wrong road, he doesn't need motivation to speed him up. What he needs is education to turn him around.” and this cannot be achieve if there is no basic structures for learning in our dear local government.

Comr. Silas C. Okolie used the opportunity to call for the equipping, upgrading, and renovation of existing Secondary Schools in the local government area. Sequel to this, the School facilities at Awgu Town, Boys' Secondary School Awgu precisely, deserve urgent upgrade coupled with Boarding House.

"It is high time we start getting more knowledgeable students from Awgu who will always represent the interest of Awgu both within and outside the country. It is high time the necessary agencies intervene so our school children we acquire their college education in a more conducive environment."

"It is crystal clear that in boarding school, Students tends to learn to be responsible. The lessons in life learned in boarding school will lay a solid foundation for adulthood. One can as well learn to be responsible for his / her actions because it is bound by an honour or discipline code of some kind."

"Having a boarding school will help to attract student across the state and beyond who will love to acquire their secondary school education in Awgu LGA thereby projecting better image of Awgu LG."

I am calling on the Awgu Council Chairman, The member representing Awgu North and South in the state House Of Assembly, Member representing Awgu in the Federal House of Representatives and Senate respectively, Political Elites in Awgu and The Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to look into this as it will be an advantage to Awgu Students.

Education is a right, not a privilege
